Thoughts on this journey;

We always knew the time would come that political interests would try to make the American people lose sight of the reality of why we have troops in Iraq, in Afghanistan. We are now at that point.

To understand why we have troops over in those areas of the world, one has only to re-listen to the goals of Islamic extremists. We must put down the veiled glasses many Americans hold up for us to look through, that pound the notion that everything would be fine if we got our troops out of Iraq.

For now, and what about Afghanistan? Most point now and say the troops in Afghanistan are there for reasons that are just. Do I need to bring it up that once Iraq does not have American troops that the terrorists will still kill and maim Americans soldiers there.

The War Against Terrorism has not wavered, it is still THE WAR. It will be our sons war just as much and possibly more than our war. If we don't realize it soon  we might see our grandchildren also fighting and dying in The War on Terrorism.

It is to this thought that getting to the fighters of tomorrows war before they become our enemy. No not through massive weapons to leave vacant areas of vast places where nothing grows or exists. But through our efforts to bring todays young a view of hope, not the hopeless view the terrorists promote.

The terrorists want to paint dark pictures for todays children to view. To hold up the uselessness of living in this world that has no hope for a better life. To make these children see only the reward in making others die in retribution for what they see around themselves.

Maybe if those children were shown a different world. Maybe if those children were shown a world where hope had replaced the darkness of dispair. Maybe where those children could be shown other children playing and having fun, like all children should have and if someone invited them to join in the fun?

This is what Operation Home Run is all about, giving children the means to have fun, the means to be just children!  It may not seem important for people here to make sure that children are playing 9,000 miles away, but it could be the most important thing in their lives.

Help us change the view these children see, take away one of the terrorists best recruiting tools.
